STATE OF THE SUPERINTENDENCY

As the current school year commenced, the vast majority of superintendents had no intention of making any changes in their occupational post in the coming year. This finding was similar to those from AASA鈥檚 annual surveys of superintendents nationwide over the last three years.

Overall, nearly 93 percent of the 2,077 survey respondents reported they will continue to serve in the superintendency. Only 5.6 percent indicated they would retire before 2025-26.
