Announces New Governance Members

Alexandria, Va. – April 17, 2025 – Four superintendents from areas across the country have been elected to the executive committee of AASA, , the nation’s premier organization serving thousands of public school system leaders throughout the U.S.
The 23-member committee, elected by AASA’s governing board, represents each region of the country. The committee meets quarterly and conducts the ongoing business of the organization.
The new executive committee members who will officially assume their new roles in July include:
- Wendy Birhanzel, Harrison School District 2, Colorado Springs, Colo. (Region 2)
- Meredith Nadeau, School Administrative Unit #21, Hampton, N.H. (Region 7)
- Leslie Ricciardelli, Collier County Public School District, Naples, Fla. (Region 5)
- Deron Stender, Creston Community School District, Creston, Iowa (Region 3)

New executive committee members will serve a three-year term effective July 1, 2025.
