Announces New Governance Members

Alexandria, Va. – (April 12, 2021) – Five superintendents from across the country have been elected to the executive committee of AASA, , the nation’s premier organization serving thousands of public school system leaders throughout the U.S.
The 22-member committee, elected by AASA’s governing board, represents each region of the country. The committee meets quarterly and conducts the ongoing business of the organization.
The new executive committee members who will officially assume their new roles in July include:
- Matthew Burrows, , Odessa, Del.
- Tobin Novasio, , Lockwood, Mont.
- Eric Runez, , DeForest, Wis.
- Cosimo Tangorra, Jr., , Niskayuna, N.Y.
- Steve Webb, , Goreville, Ill.
“Leveraging the skills of school district leaders throughout the country is necessary as we work to create a new vision for our school systems that are future-focused, rigorous and energetic. I am confident that the outstanding individuals joining the executive committee will help provide the voice and guidance we need,” said Executive Director Daniel A. Domenech. “During this unprecedented time, the leadership provided by these superintendents will be vitally important in our efforts to enact change on behalf of learners, families and communities.”
New executive committee members will serve a three-year term that starts effective July 1, 2021.
