Jackie Wilson

Executive Director, National Policy Board for Educational Administration

Jackie O. Wilson has over 50 years of experience in K-20 education that includes elementary teaching, literacy specialist, assistant principal and principal, special assignment to the superintendent, Director of Professional Accountability at the Delaware Department of Education, and teaching and administration in higher education at the University of Delaware and Wilmington University. She was selected Delaware’s NAESP’s National Distinguished Elementary School Principal (2002) and a USDOE National Blue Ribbon School Principal (2001).  

Wilson recently retired from the University of Delaware where she served as an assistant professor in the College of Education and Human Development. She also served as the Executive Director of the Delaware Academy for School Leadership (DASL) from 2010-2023.  She currently serves as a consultant for CCSSO, AASA, the Wallace Foundation, The Leadership Academy, and the Delaware and Hawaii Departments of Education. Dr. Wilson also provides professional development and consultation to the following school districts: Hillsborough County, FL, Gwinnett County, GA, Long Beach Unified, CA, Greenville County, SC, Aiken County, SC, Charleston County, SC, Broward County, Fl, Wake County, NC, Lee County, FL., Cumberland County, NC., and San Antonio, TX.  

Wilson is the Executive Director of the National Policy Board for Educational Administration where she focuses on adoption, adaptation and system alignment to the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders and the National Standards for Leadership Preparation.

Wilson recently co-authored a book with colleague Gary Bloom with Corwin Press. Blended Coaching, 2nd edition (2023) which focuses on strategies to develop the skills and knowledge of the educator.  Wilson and Bloom have extensive experience coaching teachers, principals and superintendents.
